WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (Bureau) today announced that it is providing needed flexibility to enable financial companies to work with customers in [need as they respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bureau is postponing some data collections and does not intend to cite in an examination or initiate an enforcement action against any institution for failure to report quarterly HMDA data during 2020].

Enforcement

Supervisory and enforcement forbearance under 12 U.S.C. §§ 5514-5515, 5561-5565

Notes

The consumer regulator's March 26, 2020 recognition that compliance and reporting functions were disrupted; the CFPB's later Regulation X interim final rule (Ex. 102) and the August 31, 2021 servicing rule (FED-B) complete the CFPB chronology
