Operative words
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the office has suspended all processing of paper documents submitted by mail. Most Corporation and Limited Liability Company annual reports can be filed and certificates of good standing purchased online, in real time without an expedited fee. All online filings are being timely processed. Certified copy requests will be processed by fax.
Enforcement
Administrative suspension of a statutory filing channel
Notes
The Illinois corporate filing office stopped processing mailed paper filings altogether during the closure; filings not available online (many amendments, mergers and foreign qualifications in 2020) were delayed.
