Operative words
Port of Alaska is open and operating as normal during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Matson and TOTE vessels made regularly scheduled deliveries on Sunday, March 29 and Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Their next scheduled deliveries are on Sunday, April 5, 2020. An April 2, 2020 U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service release said CBP is closing its downtown Anchorage 'Port of Anchorage' office because of COVID-19.... The downtown CBP office closure does not impact cargo operations at the Municipality of Anchorage's (sea) Port of Alaska.
Enforcement
None (status statement); CBP office closure is a federal agency action
Notes
Service announcement graded context: a municipal port's statement that cargo continued while a federal customs office closed. Its value is the recital of the CBP closure and the continuity of the supply line to Alaska under the State's travel mandates (Ex. 080, 082).
Retrieval noteRendered Wayback capture (Apr. 8, 2020) of the port's home page (full URL in banner). The update is headed 'April 2, 2021,' a typographical error for 2020 (it refers to Mar. 29 and 31 and Apr. 5, 2020 sailings). Filename date (Apr. 10) is approximate.
