Operative words
On March 18, 2020, in response to the presence of Coronavirus in the surrounding area, including the Navajo Nation, a Public Health Emergency was declared by the Hopi Tribe... This led to the Stay-At-Home Order for all residents as a means to limit the spread and control the virus... With more than 100 cases of COVID-19 identified on the Hopi Reservation in the month of July 2020, the Original Stay-At-Home Order from March 23, 2020, was extended to the end of August of that same year.... In June 2020, a nightly curfew was put into effect throughout the Hopi Reservation and unnecessary travel to, from, and across the reservation was halted. The Stay-At-Home Order was extended to July 2020 and in these two years, a total of six Stay-At-Home Orders have been issued.
