NOW, THEREFORE, I, Adam Crum, as the COMMISSIONER OF THE ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES, based on the limited authorities provided by Chapter No. 2, SLA 2021, do hereby declare that a Public Health Emergency exists in Alaska and direct the Department of Health and Social Services to continue all necessary actions to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, including: 1. Leading Alaska's COVID-19 vaccination efforts... 2. Procuring and providing COVID-19 testing supplies... 3. Assisting state, local, and tribal health officers with contact tracing;... 6. Maintaining all federal benefits... 7. Engaging with the Department of Administration to utilize emergency procurement authorities... 8. This declaration of a Public Health Emergency goes into effect at 12:02 a.m. on May 1, 2021 and shall remain in effect until rescinded or until the federal public health emergency issued under Section 319 of the Public Health Service Act expires, whichever is sooner.
