What it required

COVID-19 is a listed disease reportable within 24 hours by household members, physicians and health care providers to the local board of health; the listing is what brings a case within the isolation and quarantine authority of 105 CMR 300.200 and 300.210 and the boards' powers under G.L. c. 111, ss. 95 and 104.

Retrieval note

The list also carries 'Respiratory infection due to a novel or unusual coronavirus, causing severe disease in humans including, but not limited to, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS),' the pre-2020 entry under which the Department first treated the novel coronavirus as reportable.
