Operative words

Effective date: These regulations are effective on March 31, 2020. Applicability date: These regulations are applicable beginning on March 1, 2020.

Enforcement

Binding regulations (42 C.F.R. as amended); claims and survey enforcement

Notes

The first omnibus CMS rule of the emergency: it rewired how physician practices, hospitals, home health agencies and hospices were permitted and paid to operate (telehealth expansion, homebound status of quarantined patients, hospital-without-walls flexibilities). Pleaded as the federal rule that changed the manner of operation of health care functions from March 2020.
