Operative words
Prohibition of entry of foreign nationals who seek to enter Canada from the United States 'for an optional or discretionary purpose'; every person entering Canada 'to isolate for 14 days from the day upon which' they enter (Canada Gazette, Part I, Vol. 154, No. 14, Apr. 4, 2020; French and English texts).

Notes
Truck drivers and cross-border trade were exempted from the entry prohibition; every other business trip, sales call, installation, audit and service visit into Canada from the United States was unlawful or carried a 14-day isolation for eighteen months.
