Operative words

Crisis standards of care activated for the Panhandle Health District and North Central Health District under IDAPA 16.02.09 at the request of Kootenai Health after 'a severe shortage of staffing and available beds'. Director Jeppesen: 'Crisis standards of care is a last resort. It means we have exhausted our resources to the point that our healthcare systems are unable to provide the treatment and care we expect.' Patients may find that 'hospital beds are not available or are in repurposed rooms (such as a conference room) or that needed equipment is not available.'

Enforcement

Activation under administrative rule; governs hospital triage and liability
