Operative words

2.1.1. Except as provided in 2.1.2 (General Exceptions) and 3.4 (Site Exemptions), an individual must wear a face covering: 2.1.1.1. in an indoor area of a site; or 2.1.1.2. in an outdoor area of site where more than 2,500 individuals are present at any one time.... 3.2. Except as provided in 3.4, a person in control of a site must: 3.2.1. require each individual to wear a face covering except as provided in 2.1.2; 3.2.2. require at least three feet between groups of individuals; 3.2.3. post at least one face covering sign at or near each entrance; and 3.2.4. post... at least one sign in English and at least one sign in Spanish that explains the requirement to remain at least three feet apart and the requirement to wear a face covering. 3.3. A person in control of a site must:... 3.3.4. mandate workers wash their hands for at least twenty seconds...; 3.3.5. for a site that provides dine-in food or beverage services, 3.3.5.1. require at least three feet between tables unless the tables are separated by a solid barrier; and 3.3.5.2. limit the number of individuals who gather, stand, or sit together to ten or less; and 3.3.6. for workers confirmed to have contracted COVID-19, follow all directions from Austin Public Health...

Notes

Replaced the April 13, 2021 rules (Ex. MET-AUS-048); introduced the 'fully vaccinated' quarantine exception (2.3.5) and reduced distancing to three feet. The last mandatory general rule in Austin; converted to guidance three days later under GA-36.
