2020: By Apr. 6, 2020: Arizona, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Tennessee, Nevada, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Carolina, New Mexico, Delaware and Pennsylvania cancelled; Maine, Virginia, Mississippi, California, Georgia and North Carolina postponed; Kentucky and Wisconsin considered scaled-down events; Ohio considered alternatives. 2021: No in-person national qualifying season; ATA's virtual 'National Battle of the States' with State-level trivia rounds from July 31, 2021 replaced the State skills competitions as the path to the national round. Usual dates: March through July each year, at fairgrounds, convention centers and member parking lots. Scale: Each State sends its champions to NTDC; the South Carolina association postponed all four of its late-March and April 2020 events (Transport Topics).
