Notes
2020: Postponed from May 2020 to Aug. 29-Sept. 7, 2021 (the Commission's spring 2020 decision is recited in its Feb. 25, 2021 release as the earlier postponement of 'the 2020 General Conference'; the March 2020 date of that first decision is not verified). 2021: Postponed again: 'Meeting on February 20, the Commission on the General Conference made a decision to further postpone the 2020 General Conference until August 29 - September 6, 2022 in Minneapolis, Minn.' Barriers named: 'Vaccine is not expected to be widely available this year in many countries, and new variants of the virus which may be resistant to vaccines are emerging globally'; 'Visa services remain limited in some areas'; international travel testing requirements. The Commission found that neither an in-person meeting in 2021 nor a virtual meeting could ensure full participation of all delegates. Usual dates: May 5-15, 2020 (quadrennial); rescheduled to Aug. 29-Sept. 7, 2021; then Aug. 29-Sept. 6, 2022; held April 23-May 3, 2024 in Charlotte. Scale: not sourced (delegates from the United States, Africa, Europe and the Philippines; visa services named as a barrier). Venue orders 2020: MN-010, MN-012, MN-021, MN-022, MN-023, SEC-16-015, MET-MSP-023. Venue orders 2021: MN-038, MN-041, FED-020, FED-200, FED-207, FED-208, FED-216.
