Operative words

Section 1. All admissions to the Illinois Department of Corrections from all Illinois county jails are suspended, with exceptions at the sole discretion of the Director of the Illinois Department of Corrections for limited essential transfers.

Enforcement

20 ILCS 3305/7; violations of executive orders under the Act enforceable through the Illinois State Police and local law enforcement (see EO 2020-10 § 2(12))

Notes

Sentenced persons were held in the 102 county jails rather than transferred to IDOC reception centers; county food-service and medical contractors carried the population, while IDOC reception-center vendors lost throughput.
