Operative words

All New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission agencies, road testing, and inspection facilities remain closed to the public as a measure to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, through April 26, 2020. All driver licenses, non-driver IDs, vehicle registrations, and inspection stickers expiring before May 31 have been extended by two months.

Enforcement

Closure of State facilities under EO 103/104; N.J.S.A. App. A:9-49, -50 (violation of emergency orders a disorderly-persons offense)

Notes

New Jersey's dealers could not complete in-person title and registration work for nearly four months; the MVC's reopening on July 7, 2020 produced the documented queues of summer 2020.
