Operative words
This order of the Shelby County Health Department shall govern the use and requirements of cloth face coverings in Shelby County, Tennessee until such order is revoked or modified. Shelby County, Tennessee through its Department of Health orders that cloth face coverings or masks shall be required within Shelby County, Tennessee and as set forth in this Order to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus disease, known as COVID-19.... This Order is hereby issued and effective at 6:00 p.m. CDT on July 3, 2020, and the Order shall remain in effect until it is rescinded, superseded, or amended.
Enforcement
Health Department enforcement; any and all directives, orders and regulations governing masks or delegating public-health authority in Shelby County are void unless approved by the State through executive order
Notes
Section 3(b): all businesses, facilities, commercial venues and critical infrastructure sectors (as outlined by CISA as of July 3, 2020) shall require face coverings. Section 5 supersedes and repeals any prior face-covering directive of the Health Director or Health Officer.
