Operative words
On March 20, 2020, the Board adopted an emergency ordinance providing the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and County personnel with the ability to enforce the Governor's emergency directive and regulations governing the closure of non-essential businesses and the operation of essential businesses. This emergency ordinance would give the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and other law enforcement, including certain County personnel, the authority to enforce all emergency directives issued during a declared state of emergency, whether from the Governor, the Board of County Commissioners, the Sheriff, or the County Manager. This ordinance would be effective upon passage.
