Operative words
WHEREAS, SMC currently does not have any staffed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or medical beds available... WHEREAS, SMC reports that its emergency department has gone to 'diversion' status frequently over the past week... WHEREAS, the City of Stillwater regularly hosts events and activities which have the potential to attract an influx of 40,000 or more visitors... SECTION ONE: A state of emergency exists within the corporate limits of the City of Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma. SECTION TWO: Residents and visitors of the City of Stillwater are hereby advised that should you require medical attention from SMC there may be limited patient resources... including that there may be a temporary 'diversion' status in place that may result in diverting patients to other hospitals including out-of-state hospitals. SECTION THREE: Pursuant to Resolution No. CC 2021-24, the City Council strongly encourages Stillwater residents to follow the most recent CDC guidance... SECTION FOUR: This proclamation shall become effective on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 8:00 AM CDST. SECTION FIVE: This state of emergency shall continue until 12:00 AM CDST on Monday, September 20, 2021 unless terminated earlier by further proclamation.
