Operative words

It is hereby ORDERED that the Second Circuit Court effective July 6, 2021, will implement the following steps to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, to remain in effect until further order: 1. No one, including the public, parties to litigation, attorneys, defendants, and employees shall enter the Courthouses if they fall into any of the categories below: a. Persons who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 until the expiration of a quarantine period, b. Persons with a pending COVID-19 test unless the test is solely for purposes of a surgical procedure or for pending travel and the person is asymptomatic, c. Persons who live with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 until the expiration of a quarantine period, who live with someone who is under a quarantine direction, or who live with someone who has a pending COVID-19 test... d. Persons with a cough, fever over 100.4 degrees, sudden loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or other symptoms of COVID-19 as outlined by the CDC. 2. Court Security Officers or other designated personnel may question all persons entering the Courthouses... If a person falls into a referenced category, they may be denied entry into the Courthouses and will be directed to reschedule a court appearance via remote means or obtain other services remotely. 3. All persons entering the Minnehaha County Courthouse or the Courthouse portion of the Lincoln County Administration Building may wear a mask. All judges may use discretion in requiring individuals to wear masks during court proceedings.
