2020: Postponed Mar. 13, 2020 to Sept. 14; cancelled May 28, 2020 as a mass-participation road race and run as a virtual event, the first cancellation in 124 years. 2021: Run Oct. 11, 2021 with a field reduced to 20,000 (reported); Massachusetts' capacity orders had ended May 29, 2021 and the Boston Public Health Commission face-covering order applied from Aug. 27, 2021. Usual dates: Patriots' Day, April 20, 2020 (postponed to Sept. 14, 2020); 2021 held Oct. 11, 2021.
