Operative words
Continuing on Monday, August 2, 2021, masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn by all persons in the common areas of the Thomas. F. Donelon Courthouse... Beginning on Monday August 2, 2021, criminal matters, except for motions and trials, involving defendants housed at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center (JPCC) shall proceed by videoconference absent good cause shown. In the case of motions or trial for defendants housed in JPCC, defendants will be rapid-tested for COVID and receive a negative result prior to transport to the Thomas F. Donelon Courthouse. Beginning on Monday, August 2, 2021, in civil matters, judges are encouraged to handle matters remotely except for good cause shown.
