2020: Mar. 12, 2020: 'Under the direction of Governor Andrew Cuomo, Broadway shows in New York City will suspend all performances immediately' (resumption then planned for the week of Apr. 13); Apr. 8: suspension extended through June 7, 2020 'in accordance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control' and under the Governor's direction; May 12: refunds for performances through Sept. 6, 2020; June 29: 'Broadway performances in New York City will be suspended through the remainder of 2020 due to COVID-19'; Oct. 9: 'the continued suspension of all ticket sales for Broadway performances in NYC through May 30, 2021'. 2021: May 4, 2021: 'With guidance from Governor Andrew Cuomo, based on current health trends and subject to continuing improvement of public health and vaccination rates', ticket sales resumed for Fall 2021 (Ex. SEC-17-GM-086); July 30, 2021: 'The owners and operators of all 41 Broadway theatres in New York City will require vaccinations for audience members, as well as performers, backstage crew, and theatre staff, for all performances through October 2021. Masks will also be required for audiences inside the theatre' (Ex. SEC-17-GM-046); performances resumed Sept. 14, 2021 under Key to NYC (EEO 225 as restated by EEO 239 and 250, the latter adding mask exceptions for performers). Usual dates: Year-round; eight performances a week. Scale: 'At that time, 31 productions were running, including 8 new shows in previews. Additionally, 8 productions were in rehearsals preparing to open in the spring' (Ex. SEC-17-GM-084); 41 theatres (Ex. SEC-17-GM-046).
